Welcome to the
Oxford Radcliffe NHS Trust Department of Colorectal Surgery
Oxford Colorectal is a group of six surgeons with a specialist interest in problems of the small and large intestines, the rectum and anus. Based at the John Radcliffe and Churchill Hospitals in Oxford and the Horton Hospital in Banbury. The group provides a service to our local Oxfordshire population but 20% of patients come from other regions
The group treats patients with a spectrum of colorectal problems. These include cancer of the colon rectum and anus, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), pelvic floor disorders (incontinence, obstructed defaecation and prolapse) and proctological problems (fissures, fistulas and haemorrhoids). The surgical practice is supported by an expert team of gastroenterologists, radiologists and oncologists in addition to specialist nurses, stomatherapists and dieticians.
Oxford Colorectal works in an environment of clinical excellence supported by detailed audit of our practice. The group has an on-going active programme of clinical and laboratory research that ensures continued to leadership developments in the field of colorectal surgery.
If you would like to be seen in Oxford, all that we need is a referral from either your general practitioner or your hospital specialist and the agreement of your local primary care trust (PCT).
